More than thirty years ago, the Borenstein Family... Lou & Lovey, Mark, Neal and Wendy of Queens, New York ventured west to Arizona to fulfill their dreams. On Feburary 14th, 1979, their dream became a reality when the doors opened to Chompie's Bagel Factory in a strip mall located at 32nd Street and Shea in Phoenix. Since its humble beginning in 1979, Chompie's has become a New York style Delicatessen, Restaurant, Bakery, and Bagel Factory and over the years expanded to three unique locations, valley wide catering, and a 40,000 sq foot wholesale bakery supplying supermarkets, hotels, and restaurants.

Well-known to Arizonans and Snowbirds alike, Chompie's is famed for its Award-Winning matzo ball soup, Mile High deli sandwiches, gourmet cakes and pastries and 35 varieties of authentic, NY bagels and bialys. The Borensteins pride themselves on keeping up with the changing times and offer generations of family recipes that have been brought forth and re-created to become menu favorites.

Chompie's thanks the community and the wonderful customers who have become a part of the Borenstein family over the last 30 years. It has been amazing to meet so many families, friends and businesses and share in so many celebrations. We look forward to continuing to earn your trust and patronage so we can share even more memories over the next thirty years.
